Pitching in to Ubuntu

After using Windows for donkey’s years, I am now pitching in to Ubuntu. There are many things happening with Ubuntu. The name is not brand new for me. I always see it in my friend’s computer but I should say I have not tried it. My work environment demands Linux/Unix environment. From Windows it was not possible to experience that taste. Mainly I needed a stable terminal and a good IDE for Editor. For this simple need Windows 8 will be over kill in my office environment. One of my friend in my office is using Ubuntu and explained my need. He insisted on Ubuntu and I tried the demo with LIVE CD. I was able to do much of my work with the LIVE CD. I wanted to make use its full potential. So I decided to install Ubuntu and I did install within 20 mins. That was so quick.

After Installing Ubuntu I configured what ever I wanted and every thing is available out there. Use “Ubuntu Software center” to download software for your LINUX machine. I will write more about Ubuntu and its working tips and tweaks soon.
