In July, every working personnel’s a big job is to file the income tax returns. Now the government had made our life easy. Follow these easy steps to file your income tax returns.
Step 1: Prepare things before login to the portal.
- Form 16 for that assessment year
- Your TDS statement if the employer
Step 2: Login to the income tax India e-filing portal.
- Base website URL: https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/home
- Click the Link to Login: Income Tax Portal Login
- Always keep your username (PAN) and password handy.
- Use forget password feature to rest and follow on-screen instruction. Keep your password saved in a secure place for future use.
Step 3: Dashbaord & call to action
- Click the Filing of Income Tax Return
Step 4: Basic Type Settings
- Select the Assessment Year: Previous Year – Current Year
- Select ITR Form Number: ITR1 (Mostly for all private sector) to Know more about ITR Read ClearTax detailed explanation.
- Select Filing Type: Original/Revised Edition
- Select Submission Mode: Prepare and submit Online
- Here is the Filled Screen of the basic settings
- Also, see the bank detail which is already captured with your account, select it and click continue to move further.
- Please click I agree and continue.
Step 5: “Save Draft” and Kick Start
- Always make a habit of clicking the “Save Draft” for a few actions and proceed further.
Step 6: Fill the Part A Section
- Just make sure all your address is correct.
- Select Nature of Employment: Others for Private Sectors
Step 7: Form 16 Data
- Click the “Computation of Income and Tax” See section 17(1) and copy the amount and paste it in the 17(1) in the portal.
- Look for Section 10 and fill the relevant option and add the amount. In this Form 16 you can see two items under f, add that in the others section in the portal.
Step 8: Your 80C
- Fill the total decuction under Section 80C
- Here in this example 92295.00 is your total amount under 80 C
- Add your Health Insurance if you have any
Sep 9: Check the Tax amount
- The final tax amount has to match exactly
- If there is any discrepancy then look at your TDS statement for the amount generated by the portal
Step 10: Tax Details
- In this section you will see your employer PAN details
- If you have worked under two employer in that fiscal year then this section will reflect that
Step 11: Donation 80D
Step 12: 80GGA
Step 13: Choose your method to verify your e-filing
Step 13: Aadhar OTP is very easy and simple
- If you have linked your phone number with your AAdhar then this is piece of cake
- You can choose other options as well. If you are opting for netbanking way of verifying, make sure you turn off the pop-up blocker then continue the process.
Step 14: Final Preview
